Rheotens Melt Elasticity

Test ID

This test measures the melt elasticity and tensile strength of a material at a particular temperature. The sample, dried if needed, is loaded into a preheated test barrel of a capillary rheometer. The extrudate is drawn in tension by the wheels of the Rheotens apparatus; the drawing force is measured at a constant rate of acceleration until break.
Data see sample data
Force v. velocity data is provided. Where applicable, elongational stress vs. elongation ratio curves are also provided. This data appears in Matereality as Melt Elasticity.
Replicates (# of times this test is repeated)
0.5 - kg of pellets [details]

The data reported is useful for fiber spinning, extrusion, thermoforming, and blow molding processes.
