Torsional Crank Validation of Additive Material Models in RADIOSS

Test ID

A truss-like bicycle crank made of additive material (3D printed) is mounted in a special fixture in which one end is rigidly constrained and the other end displaced downwards. The force, displacement, and surface strain (measured with DIC) is recorded and compared to the simulation. This validation is only enabled for the elastic region of the stress strain curve and does not include failure at this point.
This test may be ordered at varying temperatures.
Force, displacement, and surface strain comparing simulation to physical test. Validated material cards, force v. displacement results for simulation and measured experiments, and simulation files are uploaded to

This test is used to validate the elastic material model of an additive material. This validation does not include plasticity or failure.
