Compressive Validation for ANSYS Hyperelastic Model
Two compression tests are performed to provide a testbench for validating the hyperelastic material models. These tests involve varying the boundary conditions between the platens and sample. The first test fixes one surface of the specimen while the other end is sliding. The second test is fully constrained on top and bottom. Force and displacement data from the experiments are used to validate the material model in simulation software. Each boundary condition is simulated and compared to the experimental results. This validation is currently available for ANSYS hyperelastic models: Mooney-Rivlin, Polynomial, Yeoh, and Ogden. TestPaks G-760 or G-761 must be ordered with this validation.
Compressibility terms may be included in the hyperelastic material models.
Validated material cards, force v. displacement results for simulation and measured experiments, and simulation files are uploaded to CAETestBench.PICSCI.com.

Through varying fixed and slip boundary conditions on the compression test a complex state of stress is imposed. Simulating variously constrained deformations of a rubber sample and comparing to measured force and displacement builds confidence in material and data fitting.
