Tensile Fatigue
Test ID
M-512
Description
Tensile fatigue tests are performed between zero and a specified maximum stress at a specified frequency in a constant amplitude of force mode. Testing is continued up to failure or 100,000 cycles depending on frequency. Number of cycles to failure is recorded.
NOTE: Due to the long-term nature of this test it is necessary to speak to a sales associate before placing an order. Because the typical test duration depends on the frequency and duty cycle, priority and economy pricing are not available unless a short test duration is desired.
Options
Standards
- ASTM D7791
Data
S-N Curves. This data appears in Matereality as Tensile Fatigue.
Replicates
Number of times this test is repeated: 3
Samples
10 tensile bars [details]
Application
This test is used to determine fatigue life of a material under cyclic loading. An S/N curve is not created. For S/N curves see [M-508].
