Very High Speed Tensile Stress-Strain
Test ID
M-235
Description
Tensile tests are performed at speeds between 1 m/s and 10 m/s, corresponding to strain rates of 100-2000 /s. Strain rates are calculated using nominal specimen gauge length. Axial strain is measured by tracking gauge marks using a high speed camera paired with optical extensometry software.

Number of times this test is repeated: 5
Samples
10 high speed tensile bars [details]
Application
High speed crash, drop, and airbag deployment simulation require tensile properties at various strain rates extending up to 1000 /s. This test allows the generation of tensile stress strain up to 2000 /s strain rate.
