Confined Compression Stress-Strain (Hydrostatic, for rubbers)
Test ID
M-213
Description
In this test, 10 mm diameter, 10-20 mm long cylinders are placed in a piston-cylinder apparatus and subjected to a confined compression. From the load and displacement profile and the known cross-sectional area, the volumetric stress-strain data can be obtained.

Number of times this test is repeated: 5
Samples
6 hydrostatic test cylinders [details]
Application
This provides an economical means to measure volumetric stress-strain behavior. The test is applicable for foams and soft materials where it is possible to approximate a hydrostatic stress state. It is unsuitable for rigid materials.
