Abaqus Rate Dependent Viscoplastic (*RATE DEPENDENT)
Test ID
G-712
Description
Tensile experiments are carried out over a range of strain rates ranging into the high speed impact regime. Tests include three stress-strain measurements in the .01-1 /s strain rate range and two high-speed tensile stress-strain curves in the 10-100 /s range covering a total strain rate range of five decades. Poisson's ratio is provided. Material model calibration is provided either to *ELASTIC followed by *PLASTIC,RATE or *PLASTIC, *RATE DEPENDENCY.
Please note that requesting strain rates that would produce test speeds below 1 mm/min may result in additional charges.

Options
Temperature dependence can also be incorporated into this model by ordering the model at multiple temperatures.

Samples
: 40 high speed tensile bars
[details]Application
This model is used in crash, drop testing and impact explicit simulations. It is used to introduce strain rate dependence into the material model.
