High Temperature Tensile Creep
Test ID
M-250HT
Description
Test coupons are placed in a tensile creep frames while a tensile load is applied and deformation in the gauge region is recorded. Testing is typically performed on Metallic materials. Tests can be performed at high temperature which produces a greater amount of creeping. Extensometers are used to measure strain. Typically tests are run for 1000 hours. Machining of test specimens is included in this test.
Options
Testing above 910°C and longer than 1000 hours are possible for an additional fee.
Standards
- ISO 204
- ASTM E139
Data
Tensile Strain v. Time. This data appears in Matereality as Tensile Creep.
Replicates
Number of times this test is repeated: 1
Samples
5 tensile bars [details]
Application
Tensile creep at high temperature is used to measure a metallic materials resistance to deformation under load over a long period of time. Typical applications is in engine components and foundry applications.
