Characteristic Relaxation Time by DMA (5 Temperatures)
Test ID
R-024
Description
A dynamic mechanical analyzer is used. A test specimen in the form of a circular disk is sandwiched between parallel plates, at temperature. The top plate is oscillated over a frequency range of 0.1 to 500 rad/s, at constant strain. The cross-over point of the G’ and G” curves is determined. Measurements are taken over a range of up to 5 temperatures using the same sample.

Data
Complex Viscosity v. Frequency, Modulus v. Frequency, aT v. Temperature, Relaxation v. Time Mastercurve. This data appears in Matereality as Melt Rheology by DMA.

Number of times this test is repeated: 1
Samples
2 plate rheology discs [details]
Application
The variation of the crossover frequency with temperature is used to provide a measure of the characteristic relaxation time of the material.
