Description
The material pellets are loaded into the barrel of a capillary rheometer which is at the test temperature. After it has melted, the material is extruded at a constant volumetric flow rate. Three separate extrudate specimens are taken over a measured time period. The mass of each sample is determined. Knowing the volumetric flow rate, and the time period of each sample taken, we can determine the volume.
