Transition Temperature by DMA
Test ID
R-026
Description
A dynamic mechanical analyzer is used. A test specimen in the form of a circular disk or pellets is sandwiched between parallel plates, at temperature. The top plate is oscillated at 100 rad/s while the sample is cooled. The cross-over temperature of the G’ and G” curves is determined.

Application
This is a precise measure of the temperature where the material begins to solidify. It may be used to characterize the no-flow temperature of a material.
