Compressive Properties of Elastomers
Test ID
M-212
Description
A universal testing machine (UTM) is used to determine compressive stress/strain curves. Test specimens are typically compression buttons. The test is performed with crosshead compressing at constant velocity.
Options
The test may be performed using sandpaper (per ASTM standard) to prevent lateral slippage, or lubrication may be used to create the uniaxial compression state required for structural analysis - please indicate in the Instructions which method is to be use
Standards
- ASTM D575
Data
