3 pt. Flexural Fatigue S-N Curve
Test ID
M-509
Description
A flexural test bar is clamped in rotating supports at the two ends and the center point. The center loading point is then moved up and down to a specific stress level and frequency. Cycles are repeated until failure occurs or, in the case of ductile polymers, a specific strain level is achieved. The tests is repeated multiple times a many stress levels to produce an S-N failure curve.
Options
Fequency: 3-20 Hz Temperature: 23-150C Stress ratio: -1 to 0.9
Standards
- ASTM D7774
Data
S-N Curves. This data appears in Matereality as Flexural Fatigue.
Replicates
Number of times this test is repeated: 3
Samples
50 flex bars [details]
Application
This test is used to capture the relationship between applied stress and fatigue life in a bending mode. This data can be used is certain CAE softwares or as a stand alone dataset.
