C-MOLD Anisotropic Shrinkage for Semi-Crystalline Plastics
Test ID
G-018
Description
Properties needed to perform a C-MOLD injection mold filling and packing plus shrink/warp simulation are generated. These include viscosity vs. shear rate at three temperatures (two in the processing range and one below); thermal properties, high cooling-rate PVT data. Additionally, the following mechanical properties are derived from tests on specimens cut from injection molded plaques; tensile modulus and thermal expansion coefficient in flow and cross-flow direction Poisson’s Ratio in 12 and 23 directions and in-plane shear modulus. Viscosity data are fit to Cross-WLF model and PVT data are fit to a Tait equation.
