Abaqus Crushable Foam with Rate Dependency (*ELASTIC, *CRUSHABLE FOAM, OPTION=RATE DEPENDENT)
Test ID
G-725
Description
Test are performed in compression on foams that exhibit crushing with a Poisson's ratio that is essentially zero. The following tests are performed; A density test, a confined compression test, two low speed uniaxial compression tests, and three high speed uniaxial compression tests . From this data both an *ELASTIC as well as a *CRUSHABLE FOAM model are created including the required hardening rule and the rate dependency parameters.

[details]Application
This model is useful for simulations that involve the use of materials that exhibit crushing behavior with rate dependency, especially useful for packaging materials. It is not recommended for recoverable foams.
