MSC.MARC Orthotropic Linear Elastic
Test ID
G-905
Description
This TestPak includes Young's Modulus in the flow and cross flow directions, Poisson's ratio, in-plane shear modulus, solid density and thermal expansion in the flow and cross flow directions. This option allows you to define material properties, a yield criterion, and a strain hardening parameters for an orthotropic material. You can also associate these material properties with a list of element numbers.
Included Tests
1x | D-010 | Solid Density |
2x | M-101 | Poisson’s Ratio and Tensile Modulus |
1x | T-302 | Thermal Expansion Coefficient by TMA (Anisotropic) |

[details]Application
Material model for describing the elasticity characteristics of an anisotropic material, assuming linear orthotropic behavior. The accuracy of this model depends on the assumption that it will stay within the bounds of the linear portion of the stress-strain curve. Useful when material is understood to have varying strengths in the flow and transverse directions. This model represents a suitable approximation to modeling thin anisotropic parts such as fiber-filled injection molded products/components.
